This hiking trail has two trailheads which means you have the option of hiking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. The total elevation difference for this hiking trail is 462 feet, and that is lower than average. There's not much difference in elevation along the great outdoors hiking trail, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your backcountry hike. This is not a very long trail but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. At parts of the year this area sees very little rain, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. Being 3.6 miles long it's a shorter type backcountry hike. This hike shouldn't take more than 3 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster.
