    falls at Big Peak Trail; January is when you get the most snow here while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Backcountry hiking here in the Northern Cascade Range is the best way to enjoy these mountaintops. There are so many glorious backcountry trails for
backcountry trekking in Washington, and among these are Big Peak Trail in Yakima County. This is a backcountry hiking trail that is quite long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. This is just one of a large number of wilderness hiking trails in this area. Summertime brings highs in the 60's to Big Peak Trail. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's; during the dark hours in the winter at Big Peak Trail temperatures sink to the 10's. Some parts of Big Peak Trail are much higher up than other  
parts of the hiking and backpacking trail, and that means that some parts of the hiking and backpacking trail could be very different from other parts of it. Big Peak Trail has a total elevation difference of 2,631 feet which is a higher than average number. This backcountry hiking trail has only one trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out walk. Now, this is roughly a 1.5-day trek, so it's a perfect thing if your backpack is big enough to do the job. Alright, enough of spending all this time inside a building, time to get out, and Big Peak Trail in Yakima County, Washington is just the place. Going for a hike here in Washington is so much fun. Being 11 miles long; it's considered a longer backcountry trek.

If you come at the right time of year, American River offers some delightful whitewater, and a pleasant tour to Indian Creek Meadows is a great way to spend an afternoon. Any time is a perfect time at Big Peak Trail if you fancy the outdoors. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Indian Spring; soar down the rapids of Tieton River - South Fork in a kayak.
Big Peak Trail is good enough to spend more than a day at, White Pass Campground is a good local campground, and some of the water close by flows, like North Fork Clear Creek. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Northern Cascade Range. While staying at Big Peak Trail you could always explore Mosquito Valley, and Blankenship Meadows is a nice place to stretch your legs a bit. Camping at Knuppenburg Lake Campground is always a magnificent experience, and hey, South Fork Clear Creek is a pleasant local stream.
