  With so many outdoors pursuits available in Washington you'll never get bored. Hitting the great outdoors hiking trails is always an enjoyable thing to do, and Big Peak Trail in Yakima County, Washington is just the place. Washington has plenty of nice backcountry trails; one of them being Big Peak Trail in Yakima County. Each backcountry trail in Washington is beautiful in its own way. Some parts of Big Peak Trail are much higher up than other parts of the wilderness hiking trail which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions
    on different parts of the wilderness hiking trail. This is a region covered with lots of trails. Throughout the summer months at Big Peak Trail highs are typically in the 60's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and all
through the dark hours in the wintertime at Big Peak Trail temperatures plunge to the 10's. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in site. Big Peak Trail is a one trailhead great outdoors trail, so you're looking at an in and out backcountry walk. These wilderness hiking trails here in the Northern Cascade Range are a really splendid way to spend quality time in the fresh air. Big Peak Trail is not very near Ellensburg at all, but It's always exciting to backcountry trek here. Big Peak Trail is many miles long having an average  
number of uphill miles which makes it a wonderful trail for experienced backcountry trekkers in good shape. Big Peak Trail has a total elevation difference of 2,631 feet which is higher than average. This backcountry walk should take you about 1.5 days, so it's a perfect thing if your backpack is big enough to do the job. Backcountry trekking here in Washington is so much fun. Keep in mind that this is a long backpacking and hiking trail, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. Big Peak Trail is a reasonably wet place frequently with a large amount of rainfall; January is the wettest month with most snow, and July on the other hand is the driest. Being 11 miles long; it's considered a longer hike.

Briefly about the general area:
This place, Big Peak Trail, it definitely has so much outdoors entertaining stuff. In case you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Tieton River - South Fork; some of the water close by flows, like North Fork Clear Creek. If you come to this river you will have a good time for sure. Why not camp at Knuppenburg Lake Campground while you're here at Big Peak Trail, and do set aside some time for Indian Creek Meadows if you're here at Big Peak Trail.
Camping is available at White Pass Campground, and swing by South Fork Clear Creek it's a great place to go to. Just can't get enough of the Northern Cascade Range. A short journey to Indian Spring is always worthwhile; a pleasant journey to Blankenship Meadows is a good way to spend an afternoon.
And that's not all you can do here in the Northern Cascade Range. American River has a nice whitewater paddling spot close by, and Mosquito Valley is also a delightful spot to explore.
