This trail goes through some very different elevations which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the trail. There is only one trailhead, so in and out is the way to backcountry walk it normally. Being 11 miles long; it's a long trail. Now, this is roughly a 1.5-day backcountry hike, so it's a great thing if your backpack is big enough to do the job.
