This is a one trailhead hiking trail, so you'll be backcountry trekking it in and back out. Different parts of Bernhardt Trail are at very different elevations, and that means that some parts of the trail could be very different from other parts of it. Being 4 miles long it's a mid length backcountry walk. This backcountry trail is not that long but it's always nice to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. This backcountry hike shouldn't take more than 3.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Sometimes this backcountry trail gets really dry, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. The total elevation difference for Bernhardt Trail is 1,705 feet which is an average number.
