backcountry hiking trails of the Northern Cascade Range are a very delightful way to see these mountaintops. This backpacking trail has two trailheads, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can backcountry walk it just one way. This is just one of a large number of wilderness
trails in this region. Being 4 miles long it's a mid length hike. Even though this is not a very long backcountry hiking trail you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. The time needed for this trek is roughly 3.5 hours, but of course some folks
walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. There's not much difference in elevation along Bear Creek Trail which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in spot.
Briefly about the general
area: And if that's not sufficient there's heaps more fun things to do in the Northern Cascade Range. Green Pass is a fine spot to stop at close by, and why not camp at Hells Crossing Campground since you're here at Bear Creek Trail. If you came for an overnight stay Crystal Springs Campground is a nice place to camp, and there's whitewater on American River for all you adrenaline people.
