You might want to pay a visit to Pleasant Valley while you're here at American Ridge Trail, and American Ridge Trail is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Lodgepole Campground is a brilliant local campground.
You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool stuff in the Northern Cascade Range. If you came to camp Pleasant Valley Campground is a splendid site to do that, and Bumping River has a wonderful whitewater paddling spot nearby. Getting to Boulder Creek from American Ridge Trail is easy, and don't leave American Ridge Trail without first paying a visit to Soda Springs.
