The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Wolf Spring Trail temperatures plunge to the 30's. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. This hiking and backpacking trail has a total  
elevation difference of 549 feet, and that is lower than average. Wolf Spring Trail has two trailheads, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can backcountry walk it just one way. You'll have got to go far from Hood River to get to Wolf Spring Trail, but It's always fun to backcountry walk here. While visiting this area in Oregon it's a fine idea to go backcountry hiking too. The backcountry hiking trails of the Central Cascade Range are a very good way to see these peaks. Wolf Spring Trail is not that long but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. The time needed for this hike is roughly 2 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Backcountry hiking in Oregon never gets boring. Wolf Spring Trail is 2.2 miles long it's a short hiking trail. The number of hiking trails in this vicinity is not very high.

Why not camp at Lemiti Campground since you're here at Wolf Spring Trail, and Cub Spring is a great local attraction. Trout Lake Campground is a great local campground, and while you're here, you could pop by Squirrel Creek.
