    Windy Lakes Trail sees pretty high levels of rainfall; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain, and July is when it's the driest. This is a long hiking trail, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety
restrictions in spot. The time needed for this backcountry hike is roughly 7 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. This great outdoors trail is a mid length great outdoors trail with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this a very tough great outdoors trail for advanced backcountry walkers looking for a magnificent challenge. very little rain, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. Being 8 miles long it's an average length wilderness trail. Windy Lakes Trail is a one trailhead backpacking and hiking trail, so you're looking at an in and out hike. The great outdoors trails of the Central Cascade Range are a very pleasant way to see these highlands. Ok, you've been cooped up too long, time to get out in the wilderness a bit, and Windy Lakes Trail in Klamath County, Oregon is just what you need. This backpacking and hiking trail has a total elevation difference of 1,381 feet, and that is about average. Windy Lakes Trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. Oregon is a perfect outdoors state.

Stay the night at Lake Lucile Campground, and some nearby water includes Whitefish Creek. Bingham Meadow is a brilliant location to stretch your legs a bit; Windy Lakes Trail is a fine place to visit for more than one day, Shelter Cove Resort is a fine place to camp nearby.
Crater Lake National Park is one of the destinations right next door to Windy Lakes Trail that are perfect to go to. And that's not all the things you can do here in the Central Cascade Range. Cowhorn Creek is right next door to Windy Lakes Trail and is always a diversion to visit, and a journey to Tandy Bay is always a good idea.
