Oregon hiking trails - Wilson Cove Trail, Central Cascade Range, Wasco County

   
  A visit to Oregon is not complete without some backcountry backpacking. When you're here in Oregon backcountry hiking along one of its wilderness hiking trails is a fine way to spend some time. Wilderness trails for backcountry hiking, and backpacking can be found all over Oregon, and among these are Wilson Cove Trail in Wasco County. Hitting the backcountry hiking trails is always a cool thing to do, and Wilson Cove Trail in Wasco County, Oregon is just the spot. There are plenty of wilderness hiking trails in Oregon; each one of them is different from
    the others. There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end which means you have the option of backcountry backpacking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. Now this wilderness hiking trail is pretty long, so don't forget to pack enough supplies.
Wilson Cove Trail is not very near Hood River at all, but it sure is a a great backcountry hiking trail. Wilson Cove Trail is 9 miles long it's a mid length walk. This is an area covered with lots of backcountry trails. Hiking here in the Central Cascade Range is a really splendid way to spend quality time in the great outdoors. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. A lot of rain falls at Wilson Cove Trail; the month with most of the snow is December, and the driest month of the year is July. The total elevation difference  
for this wilderness trail is 769 feet, and that is lower than average. Wilson Cove Trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. The length of this backcountry trail is about average with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this a very tough backcountry trail for advanced walkers looking for a tremendous challenge. This backcountry hike shouldn't take more than 8 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Throughout the summertime, highs frequently are in the 60's at Wilson Cove Trail. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Wilson Cove Trail are in the 20's.

Briefly about the general area:
Cold Spring is a pleasant local attraction, and if you came to camp Lower Twin Campground is a delightful spot to do that. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot.
This is a great river. Nearby Red Wolf Pass is a glorious location to go if you're at Wilson Cove Trail, and a pleasant site for whitewater paddling is White River. Be careful coming to the Central Cascade Range, you might not ever want to return home again. It's a wonderful idea to stop by Cedar Swamp Creek, it's in the neighborhood of Wilson Cove Trail, and White River is a splendid whitewater spot nearby. Wilson Cove Trail is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Dam Campground is a fine local campground, and do put some time aside to spend at Deadman Spring while you're here at Wilson Cove Trail.
