This trail has a total elevation difference of 422 feet which is a lower than average number. Welch Creek Trail has only one trailhead, so in and out is the way to walk it normally. There's not much difference in elevation along the backcountry hiking trail which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. You should count on this backcountry hike taking about 2.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Welch Creek Trail is 2.8 miles long it's shorter than many backcountry hiking trails. Even though this is not a very long hiking trail it's always great to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. Sometimes this hiking trail gets really dry, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go.
