This backcountry hiking trail goes through some very different elevations, and that means that some parts of the backcountry hiking trail could be very different from other parts of it. For the duration of the summer, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Waldo Lake Trail while nighttime lows are generally in the 40's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Waldo Lake Trail. Briefly about the general area: Shelter Cove Resort is a pleasant campground here, and do have a look at Nettie Creek if you're here at Waldo Lake Trail. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Central Cascade Range. Black Meadows is a wonderful location to check out; Klovdahl Bay is very near and is a fine place to check out. Waldo Lake Trail is a delightful location to camp, Twin Springs Campground is a delightful location; a short trip to Lillian Falls is always worthwhile. Just can't get enough of Waldo Lake Trail. Klovdahl Creek is a beautiful stream that is worth visiting, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Hills Creek. Yep, outdoors exciting things truly is abundant here in the Central Cascade Range. There are some good whitewater spots on McKenzie River - South Fork. At this river you will always have a good time. A journey to Waldo Lake Trail wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Salt Creek Falls; a tour to Pothole Meadow rejuvenates the spirit.
