Every Oregon hiking and backpacking trail has something unique to offer. Now this backcountry trail is pretty long, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in location. At parts of the year this area sees very little rain,
    so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. There is only one trailhead, so in and out is the way to walk it normally. Trekking here in Oregon is a must. Waldo Lake Trail is quite isolated from the closest settlement,
and it is an enjoyable spot to walk. Waldo Lake Trail has a total elevation difference of 2,265 feet which is about average. The time needed for this hike is roughly 9 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Here in Oregon backpacking is something that is always fun to do. Being 10.6 miles long; it's a long backcountry hiking trail. The length of this hiking trail is on the longer side having an average number of uphill miles which makes this hiking and backpacking trail pleasant for hard core backpackers looking for adventure.  
Waldo Lake Trail generally gets much rain; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is July. These hiking trails here in the Central Cascade Range are the best way to enjoy these highlands. There are so many hiking and backpacking trails in this region. This backcountry hiking trail goes through some very different elevations, and that means that some parts of the backcountry hiking trail could be very different from other parts of it. For the duration of the summer, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Waldo Lake Trail while nighttime lows are generally in the 40's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Waldo Lake Trail.

Briefly about the general area:
Shelter Cove Resort is a pleasant campground here, and do have a look at Nettie Creek if you're here at Waldo Lake Trail. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Central Cascade Range. Black Meadows is a wonderful location to check out; Klovdahl Bay is very near and is a fine place to check out.
Waldo Lake Trail is a delightful location to camp, Twin Springs Campground is a delightful location; a short trip to Lillian Falls is always worthwhile. Just can't get enough of Waldo Lake Trail. Klovdahl Creek is a beautiful stream that is worth visiting, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Hills Creek. Yep, outdoors exciting things truly is abundant here in the Central Cascade Range. There are some good whitewater spots on McKenzie River - South Fork.
At this river you will always have a good time. A journey to Waldo Lake Trail wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Salt Creek Falls; a tour to Pothole Meadow rejuvenates the spirit.
