The time needed for this hike is roughly 3.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. The total elevation difference for this hiking trail is 949 feet, and that is lower than average. Verdun Way is a two ended hiking trail with two trailheads, so hiking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. This vicinity does get very dry sometimes, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Verdun Way stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole hiking trail. Even though this is not a very long wilderness trail you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. Being 4.2 miles long it's a mid length hike.
