This is a two-ended backpacking and hiking trail with two trailheads which means you have the option of backpacking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. Upper Chetco Trail has a total elevation difference of 3,391 feet which is a higher than average number. Different parts of this backpacking and hiking trail are at very different elevations, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. Of course, this is an overnight hike, 5 days normally, so it's a magnificent thing if your backpack is big enough to do the job. With its 33.4 miles of walking distance; it's considered a longer backcountry walk. This area does get very dry sometimes, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. This is a long backcountry hiking trail, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies.
