Oregon hiking trails - Upper Chetco Trail, Coast Ranges, Curry County

   
  We all need to get out in the wilderness once in a while, and Upper Chetco Trail in Curry County, Oregon is a brilliant place to go. There are so many pleasant trails for trekking in Oregon, and one of those is Upper Chetco Trail in Curry County. Each trail in Oregon is striking in its own way. This is a long wilderness trail, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. During the warmest time of the year highs here at Upper Chetco Trail get into the 70's. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 50's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the
    50's, and overnight lows at Upper Chetco Trail through the wintertime generally drop into the 30's. Upper Chetco Trail is many miles long with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this hiking trail great for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. This is a two-ended
hiking trail with two trailheads which means you have the option of backpacking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. These backcountry hiking trails here in the Coast Ranges are a magnificent way to explore these highlands. Being 33.4 miles long; it's a long great outdoors hiking trail. Oregon has so much to offer the fresh air lovers. This hiking trail has a total elevation difference of 3,391 feet, and that is higher than average. Much rain falls at Upper Chetco Trail; most of the rain falls during December while July is generally  
the driest month. Upper Chetco Trail goes through some very different elevations, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. This wilderness trail sometimes gets very dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Now, this is roughly a 5-day backcountry walk, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear packed. Pretty far from Crescent City North you come upon Upper Chetco Trail, but it is an enjoyable place to trek. This is just one of a large number of hiking trails in this neighborhood. Going for a trek here in Oregon is something that is always fun to do. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in place.

Briefly about the general area:
So many exciting things to do at Upper Chetco Trail, so little time. Paddling on Rogue River is so much fun, and Gold Basin is a lovely place any time of year. Yep, outdoors entertaining stuff truly is abundant here in the Coast Ranges. Don't forget to take a pleasant little trip to Granite Creek, and Illinois River has a fine whitewater paddling spot close by.
A fine place to check out in the vicinity of Upper Chetco Trail is Chetco Bar, and not far from here you can enjoy the trees of Siskiyou National Forest. Submarine Hole is a great local attraction, and naturally Box Canyon Creek is a striking stream that is worth visiting.
If you want a great time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Coast Ranges. Upper Chetco Trail is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Agness RV Park is a magnificent local campground, and Gold Basin Springs is always fun to check out. A pleasant visit to Lately Prairie is a perfect way to spend an afternoon. There's so much to do here at Upper Chetco Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Meadow Creek Campground is a good spot for that.
