Trail night low temperatures through the winter are in the 30's. This is just one of a large number of backcountry hiking trails in this region. Twin Lakes Trail goes through some very different elevations which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on
different parts of the backpacking and hiking trail. The length of this hiking and backpacking trail is on the longer side having an average number of uphill miles which makes this a very tough backcountry hiking trail for advanced trekkers looking for an outstanding challenge.
Oregon is a splendid location for backcountry walkers. This is a long backpacking trail, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. The total elevation difference for this great outdoors trail is 4,061 feet, and that is higher than average. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions
or closures before you go. Hiking in Oregon is a tremendous idea. Twin Lakes Trail is a two ended great outdoors trail with two trailheads, so hiking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back.
Briefly about the general area: There's whitewater on Steamboat
Creek for all you adrenaline junkies. So much entertaining stuff in the Central Cascade Range, just astonishing. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Copland Creek, and a trip to Cinderella Spring will fill your soul with pleasant feelings.
Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining things in the Central Cascade Range. A glorious location like Sheep Prairie here at Twin Lakes Trail is too nice to miss; do put some time aside to spend at Deer Lick Falls since you're here at Twin Lakes Trail. Taking a little tour
to close by Charcoal Point is a good idea, and while you're here, you could stop by Twin Lake Creek. Why not camp at Big Twin Lakes Campground while you're here at Twin Lakes Trail, and needless to say Deception Creek flows through this region. And that's not all you can do
here at Twin Lakes Trail. Take some time to stop at Umpqua National Forest since you're here; a good location nearby is Dark Canyon. You have to certainly dedicate some time to Hole in the Ground since you're here at Twin Lakes Trail, and if you came for an overnight stay River View RV Park is a great place to camp.
