You spend the whole backcountry trek in roughly the same elevation zone, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole backcountry hiking trail. Tom Dick Trail is 5 miles long it's a mid length backcountry trek. This area does get very dry sometimes, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. The total elevation difference for this great outdoors trail is 1,309 feet, and that is about average. This is a one trailhead great outdoors trail, so you're looking at an in and out walk. This trek shouldn't take more than 4.5 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Even though this is not a very long hiking trail you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens.
