| | When you're here in Oregon hiking along one of its great outdoors trails never gets boring. While visiting this region in Oregon it's a splendid idea to go backcountry hiking too. Relatively far from Hood River you find Timberline Trail, but it is a wonderful sanctuary from the urban center. The beautiful hiking and backpacking trails of the Central Cascade Range are the best way to enjoy these summits. so it's an excellent thing if your backpack is big enough to do the job. There are numerous great outdoors trails in Oregon, and each one is worth hiking. This area does get very dry sometimes, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove
| | or make a camp fire. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. With its 41.6 miles of walking distance; it's considered a longer trek. This is a two-ended hiking trail with two trailheads which means you have the option of backcountry backpacking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. This hiking trail has a total elevation difference of 3,731 feet which is a higher than average number. out in the great outdoors a bit? Timberline Trail in Hood River County, Oregon is a wonderful location to go. Timberline Trail is many miles long having an average number of uphill miles which makes this a very tough backcountry trail for advanced trekkers looking for a nice challenge.
This backcountry hiking trail goes through some very different elevations which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the backcountry hiking trail. Timberline Trail sees pretty high levels of rain; of all the months in a year December
is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is July. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Timberline Trail. Throughout the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 40's while Timberline Trail night low temperatures during
the wintertime are in the 30's. This is a neighborhood covered with lots of backcountry trails.
Briefly about the general area: Compass Creek is a perfect location to stop by, and a tremendous place like Cairn Basin here at Timberline Trail is too fine to miss. All the
outdoors enjoyable things in the Central Cascade Range will keep you coming back persistently. A nice location near Timberline Trail is Leuthold Couloir, and do take a look at East Fork Salmon River since you're here at Timberline Trail. You're sure to come across some nice
folks from Hood River here, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Hood River - Lake Branch. Devils Kitchen is a tremendous place here at Timberline Trail; a wooded area nearby is Mount Hood National Forest.
Life's too short to enjoy all the cool things in the vicinity of Timberline Trail. Stay the night at Salmon River Campground, and do put some time aside to spend at Ramona Falls while you're here at Timberline Trail. Buzzard Point is close to Timberline Trail and is a perfect location
to stop by, and whitewater paddling is great on Hood River - West Fork. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Central Cascade Range. Switchback Falls is always fun to check out, and Timberline Trail is a magnificent location to camp, Nanitch Campground is a magnificent location.
