The length of this hiking and backpacking trail is on the longer side with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this a very tough wilderness trail for advanced trekkers looking for a nice challenge. Keep in mind that this is a long wilderness hiking trail, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip.

All the outdoors amusing stuff close to Thunder Mountain Trail will keep you coming back many times. Get your pulse rate up on the delightful whitewater of Clackamas River. A trip to Thunder Mountain Trail wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Bagby Hot Springs, and getting to Rock Creek from Thunder Mountain Trail is easy. There's whitewater on Collawash River for all you adrenaline rush seekers, and you can stay the night at Skookum Lake Campground.
