Oregon hiking trails - Thomas Trail, Central Cascade Range, Marion County       Every backpacking trail in Oregon has its own character. Great backpacking trails in Oregon are in abundance, and Thomas Trail is one of them, and it's in Marion County. Backcountry backpacking in Oregon is always an enjoyable thing to do. All through the days of summer, highs commonly are in the 70's at Thomas Trail. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Thomas Trail. You should count on this backcountry     hike taking about 1 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. There are not too many wilderness hiking trails in this neighborhood. With its 1.4 miles of walking distance it's a shorter type trek. As long as you like the great outdoors you will like Oregon. We all need to get out in the fresh air once in a while, and Thomas Trail in Marion County, Oregon is the fresh air at its best. Thomas Trail is a very short backcountry hiking trail, and it's pretty flat which makes it a magnificent wilderness hiking trail if you're looking for an easy stroll or if you're bringing small kids. There is only one trailhead, so you'll be trekking it in and back out. The total elevation difference for this wilderness hiking trail is 489 feet, and that is lower than average. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions   or closures before you go. You spend the whole trek in roughly the same elevation zone which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. It's a lengthy journey from Hood River to Thomas Trail, but it is a really pleasant wilderness hiking trail. Thomas Trail is not that long but it's always wonderful to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. This vicinity does get very dry sometimes, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. Thomas Trail sees pretty high levels of rain; through December this area sees the most rain; July is the month with the least moisture. These backcountry hiking trails here in the Central Cascade Range are a very fine way to see these hills.
