Throughout the wintertime highs are mostly in the 40's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Thielsen Creek Trail temperatures plunge to the 20's. The length of Thielsen Creek Trail is on the longer side having an average number of uphill miles which makes this a very tough backcountry hiking trail for advanced hikers looking for a good challenge. With its 9.2 miles of walking distance; it's a long great outdoors trail. The total elevation difference for Thielsen Creek Trail is 1,730  
feet, and that is about average. Oregon is a nice spot for outdoors people. You should count on this walk taking about 8 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. This region does get very dry sometimes, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. This is one of many backcountry hiking trails in the surrounding neighborhood. Different parts of this great outdoors trail are at very different elevations which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the great outdoors trail. The high level of precipitation makes Thielsen Creek Trail a rather wet place; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month. It's a tremendous idea to pop by Spruce Creek, it's next to Thielsen Creek Trail, and Thielsen Creek Trail is a fine spot to visit for more than one day, Diamond Lake RV Park is a fine spot to camp nearby. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Thielsen Creek Trail has to offer, you can camp at Lake Lucile Campground, and on a beautiful day you can take a look at Pumice Beach.
All year is a glorious time in the Southern Cascade Range if you like the outdoors. Why not go to close by Rabbit Creek since you're here at Thielsen Creek Trail, and Crater Lake National Park is a magnificent place nearby.
