It's a lengthy drive from Bend to Swampy Lakes Trail, but It's always fun to trek here. Even though this is not a very long great outdoors trail you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. For the duration of the warm months highs here at Swampy Lakes Trail get into the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. |

All through the winter this location gets highs in the 30's with temperatures at Swampy Lakes Trail dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. The time needed for this hike is roughly 3.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. The backcountry

This wilderness trail has only one trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out hike. Backcountry trails are fine and plentiful in Oregon, and Swampy Lakes Trail is one of them, and it's in Deschutes County. These backpacking and hiking trails here in the Central Cascade Range
are a really great way to spend quality time in nature. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in site. Swampy Lakes Trail usually gets a great deal of rain; December is the wettest month with most snow, and the driest month is July.
Briefly about
the general area: Get yourself into a kayak and hit Deschutes River; obviously Spring Creek flows through this area. That right there is a load of amusing things already but it goes on, the Central Cascade Range has it all. A great site to camp here at Swampy Lakes Trail is
Snowy River RV Park; you'll almost certainly meet some folks from Bend here. There's some flowing water nearby, Bridge Creek is a stream you can check out while you're here. Why not camp at Twin Lake Resort RV Park while you're here at Swampy Lakes Trail; soar down the rapids of Squaw Creek in a kayak.
