Oregon hiking trails - Straight Creek Trail, Southern Cascade Range, Douglas County

   
  Finally, backpacking time is here again, and Straight Creek Trail in Douglas County, Oregon is an excellent spot for getting out. A long drive parts Medford from Straight Creek Trail, but it is an excellent retreat from the urban center. Every Oregon great outdoors hiking trail is well worth a trek. Oregon has plenty of pleasant great outdoors hiking trails, and Straight Creek Trail in Douglas County is one of them. Wilderness trails like this one here in the Southern Cascade Range are the best way to enjoy these mountains. If you are in Oregon during
    backcountry backpacking season you have to go backcountry backpacking. Some parts of Straight Creek Trail are much higher up than other parts of the trail, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. This area does get very dry sometimes, so
don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. Straight Creek Trail has a total elevation difference of 2,918 feet which is a higher than average number. The number of backpacking and hiking trails in this neighborhood is not very high. All the water falling down from the sky makes Straight Creek Trail a wet site; during November this region sees the most rain; July meanwhile is the driest month. Now this backpacking trail is pretty long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. This backcountry walk shouldn't take more than 7.5  
hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. Here in Oregon backcountry backpacking is always an amusing thing to do. Straight Creek Trail is 8.6 miles long it's a mid length backcountry trek. Straight Creek Trail is a mid-length wilderness trail with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this backpacking and hiking trail good for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. This backpacking trail has two trailheads, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can backcountry walk it just one way. At Straight Creek Trail all through the warm days of summer highs are in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Straight Creek Trail plunge into the 30's.

Briefly about the general area:
Johnnie Spring is a delightful spot to visit while you're at Straight Creek Trail. In the event that you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Umpqua River - South. There's so much to do here at Straight Creek Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Tiller RV Park is a splendid site for that.
West Creek is near Straight Creek Trail and is always a joy to pop by, and whitewater paddling is pleasant on Little River. If you want a pleasant time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Southern Cascade Range. Take a little visit to Straight Creek since you're here at Straight Creek Trail, and Straight Creek Trail is great enough to spend more than a day at, Shadow Falls Campground is a great local campground.
