This is a vicinity covered with lots of hiking and backpacking trails. Straight Creek Cat Trail gets a great deal of water; through December this vicinity sees the most rain, and July is the month with the
    least moisture. This is a backcountry hiking trail that is quite long, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. Trekking here in the Central Cascade Range is an outstanding way to explore these summits. Straight Creek Cat Trail is a normal length backpacking trail with an average
amount of climbing distance which makes this hiking and backpacking trail magnificent for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. Here in the great state of Oregon backcountry trekking is so much fun. Oregon has so much to offer the fresh air lovers. Straight Creek Cat Trail has two trailheads which means you have the option of backcountry trekking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. The trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole trail. The  
total elevation difference for Straight Creek Cat Trail is 612 feet, and that is lower than average. With its 9 miles of walking distance it's an average length trail. You should count on this walk taking about 8 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. Straight Creek Cat Trail is very far from the closest full-scale town, and many folks like to backcountry hike here to be right next door to the great outdoors. Throughout the summertime months, highs frequently are in the 70's at Straight Creek Cat Trail. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's while Straight Creek Cat Trail overnight low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 30's. At parts of the year this area sees very little rain, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go.

You just should love the Central Cascade Range. Soar down the rapids of Santiam River - North in a kayak. There's so much to do here at Straight Creek Cat Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Country Star Recreational Vehicle Park is a wonderful place for that. A quick journey to Lost Creek next to Straight Creek Cat Trail is a brilliant idea. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Straight Creek Cat Trail has to offer, you can camp at Tombstone Prairie Campground.
If you come at the right time of year, Breitenbush River offers some wonderful whitewater; of course Single Creek flows through this vicinity.
