and hiking trails in Oregon, and each one has its own unique loveliness. There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can backcountry trek it just one way. There's not much difference in elevation along the backpacking trail,
so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole backpacking trail. Squaw Butte Trail is quite long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. The total elevation difference for this backcountry hiking trail is 1,436
feet which is about average. Being 6.8 miles long it's a mid length backcountry hike. Here in Oregon hiking is so much fun. Squaw Butte Trail is a normal length wilderness trail with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it an excellent great outdoors trail for experienced
trekkers in wonderful shape.
Briefly about the general area: If you come to this river you will have a good time for sure. A wonderful location to camp here at Squaw Butte Trail is Oakridge Mobile Home Park, and a quick tour to Sugar Creek is beyond doubt a good idea.
Put some time aside to spend at Cottonwood Spring since you're here at Squaw Butte Trail, and camping at Oakridge RV Park is always a great experience. And if that's not sufficient there's a heap more enjoyable stuff to do in the Central Cascade Range. Get drenched paddling
on Salt Creek, and it's a delightful idea to explore Gobel Creek. Glide down the rapids of Hills Creek in a kayak, and Salmon Falls is a great local attraction. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff the area near Squaw Butte Trail has to offer.
