Oregon hiking trails - South Loop Trail, Central Cascade Range, Linn County

   
  South Loop Trail is located a rather lengthy tour from Bend, but hiking along this great outdoors trail is very cool. Backpacking here in Oregon is a must. There are many nice hiking and backpacking trails in Oregon, and South Loop Trail in Linn County is one of them. This is a region covered with lots of trails. South Loop Trail has a total elevation difference of 154 feet, and that is lower than average. With its 3.8 miles of walking distance it's a short great outdoors hiking trail. These trails here in the Central Cascade Range are the best way
    to enjoy these peaks. This is a two-ended backcountry trail with two trailheads, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can backcountry walk it just one way. This backcountry hike shouldn't take more than 3 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster.
Every Oregon hiking and backpacking trail has its own character. The high level of rain makes South Loop Trail a rather wet spot; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain while July is typically the driest month. This trail is on the short side with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this trail perfect for the average backcountry hiker looking for an enjoyable adventure. Spending too much time indoors got you down? No problem, South Loop Trail in Linn County, Oregon is such a glorious location. And keep in mind  
that there could be temporary safety restrictions in site. Here in the nice state of Oregon backcountry backpacking is something that is always fun to do. South Loop Trail is not that long but it's always brilliant to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. All through the months of summer at South Loop Trail temperatures are typically in the 80's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are frequently in the 30's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at South Loop Trail. At parts of the year this region sees very little rain, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. South Loop Trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your backcountry trek.
