This backcountry trek shouldn't take more than 3 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. There's not much difference in elevation along the trail which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. At parts of the year this vicinity sees very little rain, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. South Loop Cut Off has two trailheads which means you have the option of backcountry trekking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. This is not a very long hiking trail but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens.
