Oregon hiking trails - South Breitenbush Trail, Central Cascade Range, Marion County       We all need to get out in the great outdoors once in a while, and South Breitenbush Trail in Marion County, Oregon is just the location. At parts of the year this vicinity sees very little rain, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. The high level of rain makes South Breitenbush Trail a rather wet site; most of the rain falls through December, and the driest month is July. The total elevation difference for this trail is 2,991 feet, and that is higher than average. South Breitenbush Trail is 11 miles long; it's considered a longer trek. This is a neighborhood covered with lots of backcountry hiking trails. Through the summer here at South Breitenbush Trail, high temperatures ordinarily get into   the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. For the period of the winter this site gets highs in the 40's with temperatures at South Breitenbush Trail dipping down into the 30's through winter nights. A visit to Oregon is not complete without some trekking. Relatively far from Hood River you encounter South Breitenbush Trail, but it is a really good hiking trail. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in site. Backcountry hiking trails like this one here in the Central Cascade Range are a very glorious way to see these hills. Some parts of this hiking trail are much higher up than other parts of the hiking trail which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the hiking trail. This hike should take you about 1.5 days, so better have big backpack to fit all the stuff you need. Briefly about the general area: There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Central Cascade Range. If you came to camp Trout Lake Campground is a magnificent location to do that, and hey, Jeff Creek is a fine local stream. Lots of fun awaits you along this river. There are some fine whitewater spots on Collawash River, and South Breitenbush Trail is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Lemiti Campground is a wonderful local campground. Yep, outdoors exciting stuff to do are really plentiful here at South Breitenbush Trail. Take a side journey to South Fork North Fork Breitenbush River, and Wild Cheat Meadow is a tremendous place to stretch your legs a bit. Yep, outdoors enjoyable things truly is plentiful here in the Central Cascade Range. A short trip to Flapper Springs is always worthwhile, and sites like Kuckup Park are splendid to go to. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Marion Creek, and you could always discover Jefferson Park.
