a total elevation difference of 2,722 feet, and that is higher than average. Of course, this is an overnight walk, 4.5 days normally, so better have big backpack to fit all the stuff you need. At Skyline Trail through the summer highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges
down to the 40's. All through the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 40's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Skyline Trail plunge into the 20's. This wilderness trail has two trailheads, so backcountry hiking it one way is an option if you
can arrange for a ride back.
Briefly about the general area: A wooded region near Skyline Trail is Malheur National Forest, and if you're here, you could visit Snowshoe Creek. If you love the outdoors you'll love it here in the Blue Mountains. So much fun stuff
near Skyline Trail, just mind-blowing. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Goose Spring, and don’t forget to take a look at Dead Horse Basin if you're here at Skyline Trail. A spree to Grouse Spring will fill your spirit with good feelings; a wonderful spot to have a
look at nearby is Keystone Gulch. A perfect place like Big Riner Basin here at Skyline Trail is too pleasant to miss, and camping is available at Wickiup Campground. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the Blue Mountains. Meadow Fork Big Creek flows through this region, and a great place to camp here at Skyline Trail is Indian Springs Campground.
