This backcountry trail goes through some very different elevations which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the backcountry trail. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Skyline Trail while overnight lows are generally in the 40's. During the wintertime highs are generally in the 40's, and overnight lows during the wintertime for Skyline Trail tend to be in the 20's. Briefly about
the general area: A short visit to Goose Spring is always worthwhile; Malheur National Forest is worth stopping at. So much exciting stuff to do in the Blue Mountains, not enough time. Big Riner Basin is a nice site here at Skyline Trail, and Snowshoe Creek is close to Skyline
Trail and is always a delight to take a look at. Keystone Gulch is a delightful site to stop at nearby; a tremendous spot to camp here at Skyline Trail is Indian Springs Campground. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Blue Mountains. A spree to Skyline Trail wouldn't
be complete without taking a look at Grouse Spring; why not camp at Wickiup Campground while you're here at Skyline Trail. Yep, outdoors entertaining things to do are in fact bountiful here at Skyline Trail. A perfect spot like Dead Horse Basin here at Skyline Trail is too glorious to miss; some nearby water includes Meadow Fork Big Creek.
