The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Skeeter Camp Trail. This backpacking trail sometimes gets very dry, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. Skeeter Camp Trail is positioned a quite long drive from Eugene-Springfield, but many folks like to backcountry hike here to be near the great outdoors. With its 4.8 miles of walking distance it's an average length backcountry hiking trail. There's not much difference in elevation along the backcountry hiking trail, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your hike. Trekking here in the Central Cascade Range is the best way to enjoy these mountaintops.

Man, is there a load of entertaining things to do close to Skeeter Camp Trail. Whohoo, so much amusing stuff in one place! The Central Cascade Range rocks! There are some great whitewater spots on Champion Creek, and a tour to Buster Spring will fill your spirit with good feelings.
Don't leave Skeeter Camp Trail without first paying a visit to Threemile Spring, and East Fork Steamboat Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth a visit. If you come to this river you will have a good time for sure. Stay the night at Slim Chance Campground, and if you come at the right time of year, Brice Creek offers some magnificent whitewater. There's some flowing water close by, Prospect Creek is a stream you can stop at while you're here. There's so much to do here at Skeeter Camp Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Errin Campground is a good site for that.
