You can't spend all your time indoors you need to get out once in a while, and Skeeter Camp Trail in Lane County, Oregon is a really splendid place to spend some time. Sometimes this backcountry hiking trail gets really dry, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. This is a two-ended wilderness trail with two trailheads which means you have the option of trekking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. The total elevation difference for this wilderness trail is 1,108 feet, and that is about average. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. It's a long journey from Eugene-Springfield to Skeeter Camp Trail, but it is one of many splendid backpacking trails in this area. Being 4.8 miles long it's a mid length trek. Skeeter Camp Trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your trek. This hike shouldn't take more than 4 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that.

Briefly about the general area:
Visit East Fork Steamboat Creek if you're here at Skeeter Camp Trail, and Threemile Spring is a pretty place to stop at while you're at Skeeter Camp Trail. Be careful coming to the Central Cascade Range, you might not ever wanna go back home again. Take a side visit to Prospect Creek. There's so much to do here at Skeeter Camp Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Errin Campground is a good place for that.
All the outdoors enjoyable things close to Skeeter Camp Trail will keep you coming back again and again. A short tour to Buster Spring is always worthwhile. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Skeeter Camp Trail has to offer, you can camp at Slim Chance Campground. If you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Champion Creek, and a great location for whitewater paddling is Brice Creek.
