Oregon hiking trails - Skeeter Camp Trail, Central Cascade Range, Lane County

   
  If you are in Oregon during backpacking season you have to go backpacking. Each trail in Oregon is worth backcountry trekking. Backpacking in Oregon never gets boring. This is one of many hiking trails in the surrounding area. Backpacking here in the Central Cascade Range is a very nice way to see these peaks. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in spot. All the water falling down from the sky makes Skeeter Camp Trail a wet place; during November this region sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is July.
    There are trails all over Oregon; Skeeter Camp Trail in Lane County is one of them. You'll need to go far from Eugene-Springfield to get to Skeeter Camp Trail, but you always have a good time when you're backcountry backpacking along it. There's not much difference in elevation
along Skeeter Camp Trail, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole backcountry trail. The length of Skeeter Camp Trail is about average having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a splendid hiking trail for the average person looking for a splendid adventure. Summer at Skeeter Camp Trail arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 40's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 40's with temperatures at Skeeter Camp Trail dipping down into the 30's during  
winter nights. Finally, backcountry backpacking time is here again, and Skeeter Camp Trail in Lane County, Oregon is the wilderness at its best. Skeeter Camp Trail is a two ended wilderness hiking trail with two trailheads which means you have the option of backcountry trekking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. The total elevation difference for Skeeter Camp Trail is 1,108 feet which is about average. Even though this is not a very long backcountry trail it's always pleasant to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. Skeeter Camp Trail is 4.8 miles long it's an average length backcountry trail. This backcountry trail sometimes gets very dry, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. The time needed for this backcountry walk is roughly 4 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that.

Briefly about the general area:
If you adore the outdoors you'll adore it here in the Central Cascade Range. Buster Spring is a glorious local attraction; if you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Champion Creek. A quick visit to Prospect Creek right next door to Skeeter Camp Trail is a tremendous idea; a wonderful site for whitewater paddling is Brice Creek.
You'll need more than a day to explore everything Skeeter Camp Trail has to offer, you can camp at Slim Chance Campground; do put some time aside to spend at Threemile Spring since you're here at Skeeter Camp Trail. Having a good time at Skeeter Camp Trail is painless. East Fork Steamboat Creek flows through this region. There's so much to do here at Skeeter Camp Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Errin Campground is a good place for that.
