Oregon hiking trails - Silica Trail, Central Cascade Range, Lane County

   
  While visiting this area in Oregon it's a good idea to go backcountry backpacking too. Here in the perfect state of Oregon hiking is always a fun thing to do. Hiking trails are perfect and plentiful in Oregon, and Silica Trail in Lane County is one of them. Throughout the summer months at Silica Trail temperatures are frequently in the 70's, and the night is quite chillier of course, mostly in the 40's. For the period of the wintertime highs are mostly in the 40's while Silica Trail night low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 30's. There are
    so many trails in this neighborhood. This is a long backcountry hiking trail, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. Each one of the many great outdoors hiking trails of Oregon is different from the others. These great outdoors trails here in the Central Cascade Range are
the best way to enjoy these highlands. Silica Trail is a quite wet place mostly with lots of rain; most of the rain falls throughout November while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This hiking and backpacking trail goes through some very different elevations, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. This backcountry hiking trail sometimes gets very dry, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. The time needed  
for this backcountry trek is roughly 5.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Silica Trail is a two ended wilderness trail with two trailheads which means you have the option of backcountry hiking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. Alright, enough of spending all this time inside a building, time to get out, and Silica Trail in Lane County, Oregon is just the spot. Silica Trail is situated a pretty lengthy tour from Eugene-Springfield, but it is an exciting spot to walk. The total elevation difference for this wilderness trail is 2,595 feet which is higher than average. Being 6.6 miles long it's an average length hiking and backpacking trail. Silica Trail is a normal length great outdoors trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes this trail perfect for hard core backpackers looking for adventure.

Briefly about the general area:
Get yourself into a kayak and hit Layng Creek; if you're here why not visit Sailors Gulch. Having a pleasant time in the Central Cascade Range is simple. Quartz Creek is right next door to Silica Trail and is always a bliss to visit; glide down the rapids of Sharps Creek in a kayak.
A great spot to camp here at Silica Trail is Slim Chance Campground. Clark Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth stopping at, and camping at Happy Eagle Lodge and RV's is always a good experience.
