  Put on your backpacking shoes, and hit the backpacking trail, Silica Trail in Lane County, Oregon is just what you need. Tremendous trails in Oregon are in abundance; one of these is Silica Trail in Lane County. Silica Trail is a backpacking trail quite far from Eugene-Springfield, but backpacking along this backpacking trail is very fun. This hike shouldn't take more than 5.5 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Silica Trail gets a great deal of water; November is the wettest month with most rain, and July meanwhile is
    the driest month. There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end, so backcountry hiking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in spot. Different parts of Silica Trail are at very different
elevations, and that means that some parts of the wilderness hiking trail could be very different from other parts of it. Being 6.6 miles long it's a mid length backcountry hike. Outdoors people generally like this part of Oregon. Here in Oregon backpacking is the perfect thing to do. This is an area covered with lots of backpacking trails. Backcountry hiking trails like this one here in the Central Cascade Range are the best way to enjoy these mountains. This neighborhood does get very dry sometimes, so make sure you check current conditions and fire  
restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. Silica Trail is a mid-length backpacking and hiking trail with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this a very tough backpacking trail for advanced backcountry hikers looking for a perfect challenge. This is a long backpacking and hiking trail, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. This wilderness trail has a total elevation difference of 2,595 feet, and that is higher than average. At Silica Trail throughout the warm months highs are in the 70's, and the night is a little chillier of course, regularly in the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's while Silica Trail night low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 30's. Every trail in Oregon has its own unique splendor.

Briefly about the general area:
Get covered with water paddling on Sharps Creek, and hey, Clark Creek is a perfect local stream. All the outdoors amusing stuff in the Central Cascade Range will keep you coming back repeatedly. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Layng Creek, and why not a little side tour to Quartz Creek.
If you came for an overnight stay Slim Chance Campground is a splendid place to camp. Near Silica Trail you discover Sailors Gulch which is a good place to have a look at, and why not camp at Happy Eagle Lodge and RV's if you're here at Silica Trail.
