Oregon hiking trails - Section Line Trail, Blue Mountains, Morrow County

   
  Hiking trails are great and plentiful in Oregon, and one of those is Section Line Trail in Morrow County. As long as you like the outdoors you will like Oregon. Every backcountry hiking trail in Oregon has its own character. This vicinity does get very dry sometimes, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. It is very waterless here at Section Line Trail mostly; all through the month of November you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is July. Section Line Trail is not that long but it's always good to
    bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. Quite far from Pendleton-Hermiston you locate Section Line Trail, but backcountry trekking it is great amusement any time. Being 5.8 miles long it's an average length wilderness hiking trail. Section Line Trail has
a total elevation difference of 570 feet which is lower than average. The picturesque backcountry trails of the Blue Mountains are a brilliant way to explore these mountains. This walk shouldn't take more than 5 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Hitting the backcountry hiking trails is always an enjoyable thing to do, and Section Line Trail in Morrow County, Oregon is just what you need. Section Line Trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time which means the conditions are about the same  
from start to finish. High temperatures at Section Line Trail throughout the summertime months are in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's with temperatures at Section Line Trail dipping down into the 20's throughout winter nights. There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end which means you have the option of backcountry backpacking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. Section Line Trail is a mid-length backcountry trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a wonderful backcountry trail for the average person looking for a wonderful adventure. There are not too many backcountry trails in this neighborhood. Here in the great state of Oregon trekking is so much fun. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in place.

Briefly about the general area:
Kelly Prairie is a delightful spot to check out. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Section Line Trail has to offer, you can camp at C and D Motel and Trailer Court. Getting to Pole Creek from Section Line Trail is simple. There's so much to do here at Section Line Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Meadowbrook Lodge and Overnight Park is a wonderful spot for that.
There are some magnificent whitewater spots on John Day River - North Fork, and a short spree to Brush Spring is always worthwhile. So many cool things to do here in the Blue Mountains, too glorious to be true. The views at John Day Fossil Beds National Monument will blow your mind; why not take a little spree to Wilson Creek if you're here. Now, you may imagine that's a heap but there's even more fun stuff to do here at Section Line Trail. Hunter Spring is a scenic location to stop by while you're at Section Line Trail.
