into the 20's throughout winter nights. There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end which means you have the option of backcountry backpacking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. Section Line Trail is a mid-length backcountry trail having
an average number of uphill miles which makes it a wonderful backcountry trail for the average person looking for a wonderful adventure. There are not too many backcountry trails in this neighborhood. Here in the great state of Oregon trekking is so much fun. And keep in mind that
there could be temporary safety restrictions in place.
Briefly about the general area:
Kelly Prairie is a delightful spot to check out. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Section Line Trail has to offer, you can camp at C and D Motel and Trailer Court.
Getting to Pole Creek from Section Line Trail is simple. There's so much to do here at Section Line Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Meadowbrook Lodge and Overnight Park is a wonderful spot for that.
There are some magnificent whitewater spots on John Day River
- North Fork, and a short spree to Brush Spring is always worthwhile. So many cool things to do here in the Blue Mountains, too glorious to be true. The views at John Day Fossil Beds National Monument will blow your mind; why not take a little spree to Wilson Creek if you're here.
Now, you may imagine that's a heap but there's even more fun stuff to do here at Section Line Trail. Hunter Spring is a scenic location to stop by while you're at Section Line Trail.
