a splendid adventure. Section Line Trail is a great outdoors hiking trail relatively far from Pendleton-Hermiston, but backcountry backpacking it is glorious joy any time. The time needed for this backcountry trek is roughly 5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and
you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Section Line Trail is 5.8 miles long it's a mid length walk. Trekking here in the Blue Mountains is a brilliant way to explore these hills. Section Line Trail is a two ended backcountry hiking trail with two trailheads which means you
have the option of trekking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. The warmest time of the year at Section Line Trail arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter
are in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Section Line Trail temperatures dip to the 20's. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping.
Briefly about the general area: It's always delightful to take a look at Hunter Spring; get your heart
beating on the glorious whitewater of John Day River - North Fork. Put some time aside to spend at Brush Spring while you're here at Section Line Trail. There's so much to do here at Section Line Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Meadowbrook Lodge and Overnight Park
is a tremendous site for that. So many cool things in the Blue Mountains, just fantastic. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Section Line Trail has to offer, you can camp at C and D Motel and Trailer Court, and why not a little side spree to Pole Creek. Not
sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this site. If time allows, John Day Fossil Beds National Monument is a national park worth visiting. Wilson Creek is a splendid site to stop at, and Kelly Prairie is a glorious spot.
