Briefly about the general area:
Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing things in the Central Cascade Range. Minnie Scott Spring is an inspiring site to visit while here. Some of the water nearby flows, like Glacier Creek, and Suttle Lake Resort and Marina is a tremendous campground nearby.
The Island is a striking place any time of year, and there's whitewater on Marion Creek for all you adrenaline rush seekers. Now, you may imagine that's plenty but there's even more cool stuff to do here at Scott Trail. A fine location right next door to Scott Trail is McKenzie Pass, and getting to West Lava Creek from Scott Trail is simple. Scott Trail is a magnificent spot to visit for more than one day, Camp Tamarack is a magnificent spot to camp nearby; don't leave Scott Trail without first paying a visit to Obsidian Falls.
All year is a brilliant time in the Central Cascade Range if you go for the outdoors. Chief Joseph Island is a splendid location to check out; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Squaw Creek.
