elevations. Now, this is roughly a 3-day backcountry hike, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear packed. For the period of the summer months here at Scott Trail, high temperatures typically get into the 80's. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 40's. The winter comes
with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Scott Trail dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. This backcountry trail has a total elevation difference of 1,989 feet which is about average. Being 19.8 miles long; it's longer than many hiking and backpacking trails. And
keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in site. The scenic backpacking trails of the Central Cascade Range are a really perfect way to spend quality time in the fresh air.
Briefly about the general area: Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing
things in the Central Cascade Range. Minnie Scott Spring is an inspiring site to visit while here. Some of the water nearby flows, like Glacier Creek, and Suttle Lake Resort and Marina is a tremendous campground nearby. The Island is a striking place any time of year, and there's
whitewater on Marion Creek for all you adrenaline rush seekers. Now, you may imagine that's plenty but there's even more cool stuff to do here at Scott Trail. A fine location right next door to Scott Trail is McKenzie Pass, and getting to West Lava Creek from Scott Trail is simple.
Scott Trail is a magnificent spot to visit for more than one day, Camp Tamarack is a magnificent spot to camp nearby; don't leave Scott Trail without first paying a visit to Obsidian Falls. All year is a brilliant time in the Central Cascade Range if you go for the outdoors.
Chief Joseph Island is a splendid location to check out; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Squaw Creek.
