There is only one trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out walk. You spend the whole backcountry trek
    in roughly the same elevation zone, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your backcountry trek. The length of this hiking trail is about average having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a magnificent backcountry hiking trail for the average
person looking for a magnificent adventure. You can't spend all your time indoors you need to get out once in a while, and if you happen to be in Jefferson County of Oregon, Round Lake Trail is an outstanding local hiking and backpacking trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. The hiking trails of the Central Cascade Range are a really glorious way to spend quality time in nature. Even though this is not a very long hiking trail you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. Being 4.2 miles long it's a mid length backcountry  
trek. The high level of rainfall makes Round Lake Trail a relatively wet spot; most of the rain falls throughout December; July meanwhile is the driest month. The total elevation difference for this wilderness trail is 627 feet which is lower than average. The time needed for this backcountry trek is roughly 3.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Every backcountry trail in Oregon has its own character. This is just one of a large number of backcountry hiking trails in this area. A long tour divides Bend from Round Lake Trail, but if you're looking for an outstanding spot to go backcountry backpacking, this is an outstanding pick. All through the summer months at Round Lake Trail temperatures are usually in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 20's for Round Lake Trail.

Briefly about the general area:
Camping is available at Cold Springs Resort; in the event that you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Marion Creek. Having a good time in the Central Cascade Range is easy. Camping at Suttle Lake Resort and Marina is always a brilliant experience; needless to say Link Creek flows through this region.
