Round Lake Trail has only one trailhead, so in and out is the way to trek it normally. There's not much difference in elevation along the hiking trail, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your trek. This trek shouldn't take more than 3.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. At parts of the year this vicinity sees very little rain, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. The total elevation difference for this backpacking and hiking trail is 627 feet which is a lower than average number. Round Lake Trail is not that long but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. Being 4.2 miles long it's a mid length trek.
