This is a two-ended great outdoors trail with two trailheads which means you have the option of hiking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. Sometimes this wilderness trail gets really dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. This is not a very long wilderness trail but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. The total elevation difference for Rattlesnake Trail is 863 feet, and that is lower than average. With its 4.6 miles of walking distance it's an average length great outdoors trail. The great outdoors trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole great outdoors trail. This trek shouldn't take more than 4 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that.
