  Oregon has plenty of magnificent wilderness hiking trails, and Plaza Trail in Clackamas County is one of them. Backcountry backpacking in Oregon is such a perfect thing to do. Backcountry trekking in Oregon never gets boring. Plaza Trail is a one trailhead great outdoors trail, so you'll be backpacking it in and back out. Some parts of Plaza Trail are much higher up than other parts of the backcountry trail, and that means that some parts of the backcountry trail could be very different from other parts of it. With its 6.2 miles of walking distance it's
    an average length backcountry trail. You should count on this trek taking about 5.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. There are numerous wilderness hiking trails in Oregon, and each one is worth hiking. Keep in mind
that this is a long trail, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. There are so many hiking and backpacking trails in this area. Plaza Trail is a quite wet place commonly with a good deal of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is December, and July is when it's the driest. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in place. Plaza Trail is a long drive away from Hood River, but it is one of many great great outdoors trails in this vicinity. Ok, you've been cooped up too long, time to get out in the outdoors a bit, and Plaza  
Trail in Clackamas County, Oregon is the outdoors at its best. Plaza Trail is a normal length wilderness trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes this a very tough hiking and backpacking trail for advanced trekkers looking for an excellent challenge. The total elevation difference for this great outdoors trail is 3,149 feet, and that is higher than average. Backcountry backpacking here in the Central Cascade Range is the best way to enjoy these summits. Summertime highs at Plaza Trail frequently tend to be in the 70's while overnight lows are commonly in the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's; overnight lows at Plaza Trail through the wintertime commonly dip into the 30's.

Briefly about the general area:
There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Central Cascade Range. Don't forget to take a fine little trip to Welches Creek; Plaza Trail is great enough to spend more than a day at, Bighorn Campground is a great local campground. There are some glorious whitewater spots on Sandy River; of course Lymp Creek is a lovely stream that is worth taking a look at.
If you come at the right time of year, Zigzag River offers some brilliant whitewater. There's so much to do here at Plaza Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Mount Hood Village is a fine place for that.
