along this hiking trail is very enjoyable. The total elevation difference for Plaza Trail is 3,149 feet which is a higher than average number. Being 6.2 miles long it's a mid length trek. Different parts of Plaza Trail are at very different elevations, so keep in mind that you
may need to dress differently at different elevations. This is just one of a large number of backcountry trails in this area. At Plaza Trail through the warm days of summer highs are in the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 40's, and winter
nights come with lows in the 30's to Plaza Trail.
Briefly about the general area: This place, the Central Cascade Range, has so much outdoors exciting stuff. Get your heart pumping on the fine whitewater of Sandy River, and why not pop by nearby Lymp Creek while you're
here at Plaza Trail. There's so much to do here at Plaza Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Mount Hood Village is a great location for that, and while you're here, you could check out Welches Creek. There's whitewater on Zigzag River for all you adrenaline junkies, and Plaza Trail is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Bighorn Campground is a fine local campground.
