| | outdoors. For the period of the summer highs here at Perry Butte Way reach the 80's with night lows in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 40's; during the dark hours in the winter at Perry Butte Way temperatures fall to the 30's. Being 9 miles long it's a mid length backcountry hike. There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end, so backcountry trekking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. trail could be very different from other parts of it. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. Alright, enough of spending all this time inside a building, time to get out, and Perry Butte Way in Douglas County, Oregon is just the place. This
is one of many backpacking trails in the surrounding region. This is a long trail, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. The time needed for this walk is roughly 8 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Sometimes this
trail gets really dry, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. Perry Butte Way is a rather wet site regularly with a great deal of rainfall; through the month of November you get the most rain around here,
and the driest month of the year is July.
Briefly about the general area: Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this site. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Soda Springs; don’t forget to explore Mountain Meadows while you're here at Perry Butte Way. Just
can't get enough of the Central Cascade Range. Steamboat Creek has a nice whitewater paddling spot nearby; Bridge Prairie is a brilliant place here at Perry Butte Way. And if that's not enough there's lots more enjoyable stuff to do in the Central Cascade Range. There's so
much to do here at Perry Butte Way that you need to camp here for a while, Weeping Rock Campground is a splendid site for that; some of the water close by flows, like Medicine Creek. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Perry Butte Way has to offer, you can camp at
Camas Creek Campground, and Toketee Falls is an inspiring place to go to while you're here. In the event that you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Copland Creek; if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Slide Creek.
