This is a two-ended backpacking and hiking trail with two trailheads, so trekking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. North and South Trail is not that long but it's always good to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. North and South Trail has a total elevation difference of 1,098 feet which is about average. North and South Trail is 2.2 miles long it's shorter than many wilderness hiking trails. There's not much difference in elevation along the wilderness hiking trail, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your backcountry walk. Sometimes this great outdoors hiking trail gets really dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. The time needed for this backcountry trek is roughly 2 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster.
