since you're here at Mud Lake Trail it's a great idea to take a look at Mink Lake Basin. In the event that you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Deschutes River, and if you came for an overnight stay East Lake Resort and RV Parks is a tremendous location to camp.
