Oregon hiking trails - Mountain Wells Trail, Coast Ranges, Curry County

Quite far from Brookings you find Mountain Wells Trail, but it is one of many wonderful wilderness trails in this vicinity. This is one of a very small number of great outdoors hiking trails in this vicinity. Every single Oregon wilderness trail has its own character. This vicinity does get very dry sometimes, so don’t
    forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. The high level of precipitation makes Mountain Wells Trail a relatively wet spot; December is the month that gets the most rain, and July is when it's the driest. The hiking trail stays roughly within the same elevation
zone the whole time, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your trek. These great outdoors trails here in the Coast Ranges are a magnificent way to explore these mountains. Throughout the warmest time of the year here at Mountain Wells Trail, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 50's; night lows in the 30's for Mountain Wells Trail. There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end, so backpacking it one way is an option  
if you can arrange for a ride back. If you happen to be in Oregon, why not go backcountry backpacking, it is so much fun. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. The time needed for this hike is roughly 8.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. The total elevation difference for this hiking and backpacking trail is 625 feet which is lower than average.

Why not check out close by North Fork Rock Creek if you're here at Mountain Wells Trail; if you're stopping by from Brookings, you won't be the only one. A pleasant journey to Bonanza Basin is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon, and a brilliant place is Copper Canyon.
The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Painted Riffle, and paddling on Coquille River - South Fork is so much fun. A visit to Bean Riffle will fill your spirit with great feelings; there's a forest here called Port Orford Cedar Experimental Forest.
All the outdoors entertaining stuff in the Coast Ranges will keep you coming back persistently. Steffin Meadow is a magnificent location to stretch your legs a bit, and camping at Agness RV Park is always a wonderful experience. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun stuff close to Mountain Wells Trail. It's a tremendous idea to pop by Stonehouse Creek, it's near Mountain Wells Trail, and Mountain Wells Trail is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, McCurdy Campground is a delightful local campground.
