neighborhood does get very dry sometimes, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Mountain Lakes Trail is a backcountry trail relatively far from Klamath Falls, but backcountry trekking is such a fun thing to do,
and this is an excellent location to do that. Different parts of this hiking trail are at very different elevations, and that means that some parts of the hiking trail could be very different from other parts of it. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions
in place. The backpacking and hiking trails of the Southern Cascade Range are a fine way to explore these summits. Mountain Lakes Trail is a wet site that gets a good deal of rainfall; during the month of December you get the most snow around here, and the driest of the months
is July. Keep in mind that this is a long hiking trail, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies.
Briefly about the general area: Seldom Creek flows through this area; since you're here, do take a trip to Rainbow Bay. White Pine Campground is a good campground nearby,
and do put some time aside to spend at Rainbow Springs while you're here at Mountain Lakes Trail. A perfect spot close to Mountain Lakes Trail is South Pass, and there are some magnificent whitewater spots on Klamath River. Whohoo, so many exciting things in one place! The
Southern Cascade Range is excellent! There's whitewater on Klamath River for all you adrenaline people. Now, you may assume that's plenty but there's even more fun stuff to do here in the Southern Cascade Range. There's some flowing water nearby, Cold Creek is a stream you can
go to while you're here, and Mountain Lakes Trail is a nice place to visit for more than one day, Rocky Point Resort is a nice place to camp nearby. Yep, outdoors cool stuff to do are beyond doubt abundant here at Mountain Lakes Trail. Fourmile Flat Quarry is a great site, and Crystalline Spring is always fun to check out.
