  You can't spend all your time indoors you need to get out once in a while, and Mother Lode Trail in Marion County, Oregon is a fine selection. Good great outdoors trails in Oregon are in abundance, and among these are Mother Lode Trail in Marion County. You'll need to go far from Hood River to get to Mother Lode Trail, but you always have a fine time when you're backpacking along it. Different parts of Mother Lode Trail are at very different elevations, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. With so many outdoors
    endeavors available in Oregon you'll never get bored. Trekking here in the Central Cascade Range is a really good way to spend quality time in the wilderness. Mother Lode Trail has two trailheads which means you have the option of trekking it one way if you have someone to pick
you up at the other end. Mother Lode Trail is quite long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. Mother Lode Trail is 21.4 miles long; it's a long hiking and backpacking trail. Each one of the many great outdoors trails of Oregon is striking in its own way. The total elevation difference for Mother Lode Trail is 3,313 feet, and that is higher than average. For the duration of the summertime, highs usually are in the 70's at Mother Lode Trail. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter the highs are typically in the  
40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Mother Lode Trail. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. At parts of the year this vicinity sees very little rain, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. This is a neighborhood covered with lots of hiking and backpacking trails. Backpacking here in Oregon never gets boring. Now, this is roughly a 3-day backcountry walk, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear packed. All the water falling down from the sky makes Mother Lode Trail a wet place; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Mother Lode Trail is many miles long having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a brilliant hiking and backpacking trail for experienced trekkers in great shape.

Briefly about the general area:
Toma Meadow is a nice place to check out, and camping is available at Skookum Lake Campground. Mother Lode Creek is in the vicinity of Mother Lode Trail and is always a delight to stop by; a great place to camp here at Mother Lode Trail is B and B Rentals.
This river is so good. Beachie Saddle is a magnificent place to have a look at in the neighborhood of Mother Lode Trail, and why not take a little visit to Battle Creek while you're here. Now, you may assume that's loads but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Mother Lode Trail. You can run the rapids of Collawash River close to Mother Lode Trail, and do put some time aside to spend at Terrace Spring if you're here at Mother Lode Trail. That right there is a heap of amusing stuff already but it goes on, the Central Cascade Range has it all. Pegleg Falls is always fun to check out, and there's whitewater on Breitenbush River for all you adrenaline rush seekers.
You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the Central Cascade Range. Pansy Basin is a stunning place any time of year.
