This backcountry trail has a total elevation difference of 676 feet which is a lower than average number. This is not a very long hiking trail but it's always brilliant to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. There are so many great outdoors hiking trails
in this vicinity. There's not much difference in elevation along the hiking trail which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. The time needed for this backcountry walk is roughly 1.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck
so be prepared for that.
Briefly about the general area: You'll need more than a day to discover everything Mirror Lake Trail has to offer, you can camp at Barlow Campground; if you feel like a little side visit, try Little Zigzag Canyon. While you're here at Mirror
Lake Trail you will meet lots of people from nearby Hood River. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Central Cascade Range. There's so much to do here at Mirror Lake Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Twin Bridges Campground is a nice place for that, and a short tour to Yocum Falls is always worthwhile.
