    Minetop Trail is 6 miles long it's a mid length backcountry trek. The total elevation difference for this trail is 931 feet which is lower than average. The warmest time of the year at Minetop Trail arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours
of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. For the duration of the winter the highs are typically in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Minetop Trail are in the 20's. This is one of a very small number of wilderness hiking trails in this area. Sometimes this great outdoors trail gets really dry, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. Oregon is a tremendous outdoors state. Alright, enough of spending all this time inside a building, time to get out, and if you happen to be  
in Morrow County of Oregon, Minetop Trail is a fine local great outdoors hiking trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. Here in the good state of Oregon backcountry trekking is a magnificent way to spend some time. This is not a very long great outdoors trail but it's always perfect to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. You should count on this backcountry walk taking about 5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Great outdoors trails like this one here in the Blue Mountains are a tremendous way to explore these hills. Minetop Trail is pretty dried up commonly; November is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month of the year is July. There's not much difference in elevation along the great outdoors hiking trail, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole great outdoors hiking trail. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. Minetop Trail has only one trailhead, so in and out is the way to walk it normally.

Don't leave Minetop Trail without first paying a visit to Circle Bar Spring, and why not a little side visit to Bear Creek. A splendid site close to Minetop Trail is Mulligan Stew Canyon, and hey, Swale Creek is a nice local stream.
Any time is a great time at Minetop Trail if you like the outdoors. Visiting John Day Fossil Beds National Monument is just something you need to do if you haven't yet. While you're here at Minetop Trail it's a perfect idea to take a look at Gilman Flat. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Minetop Trail has to offer, you can camp at Elkhorn Tavern and RV Park. And that's not all there is to do here in the Blue Mountains. Skookum Spring is an inspiring place to check out while you're here; do set aside some time for Mahogany Flat if you're here at Minetop Trail.
