Briefly about the general area: There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Minetop Trail. A tour to John Day Fossil Beds National Monument is worthwhile. A quick
spree to Bear Creek near Minetop Trail is a pleasant idea, and Mulligan Stew Canyon is unquestionably a pleasant location to take a look at. Gilman Flat is a great site, and since you're here, you could have a look at Swale Creek. Places like Mahogany Flat are pleasant to stop
at, and Skookum Spring is a beautiful location to stop by while you're at Minetop Trail. Now, you may assume that's heaps but there's even more enjoyable things to do here in the Blue Mountains. If you came for an overnight stay Elkhorn Tavern and RV Park is a pleasant place to camp, and a short journey to Circle Bar Spring is always worthwhile.
