Oregon hiking trails - Mill Creek Trail, Southern Cascade Range, Jackson County

   
  If you happen to be in Oregon, why not go hiking, it never gets boring. This part of Oregon has a good deal of available outdoors endeavors. Every Oregon backcountry trail is well worth a trek. Finally, backcountry hiking time is here again, and Mill Creek Trail in Jackson County, Oregon is a really great place to spend some time. Oregon has plenty of great backcountry trails, and one of those is Mill Creek Trail in Jackson County. The time needed for this trek is roughly 5.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. This area
    does get very dry sometimes, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. Mill Creek Trail is a normal length hiking trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes this wilderness hiking trail pleasant for hard core backpackers looking for
adventure. The beautiful hiking trails of the Southern Cascade Range are the best way to enjoy these mountains. Mill Creek Trail is a quite wet spot frequently with a lot of rainfall; November is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is July. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in site. The great outdoors hiking trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. Even though this is not a very long backpacking and hiking  
trail you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. The total elevation difference for Mill Creek Trail is 972 feet which is a lower than average number. This is one of many wilderness hiking trails in the surrounding vicinity. With its 6 miles of walking distance it's a mid length trek. There is only one trailhead, so you'll be backpacking it in and back out. Throughout the summertime months, highs mostly are in the 80's at Mill Creek Trail. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 40's. Highs through the wintertime are frequently in the 40's; nighttime lows at Mill Creek Trail through the wintertime frequently plunge into the 20's. Mill Creek Trail is a trail pretty far from Medford, but it is a cool place to backcountry trek.

So much amusing stuff to do at Mill Creek Trail, so little time. Dead Soldier Meadow is right here at Mill Creek Trail, and Mountain Home Mobile Village is a wonderful local campground.
Rogue River - North Fork has a great whitewater paddling spot close by; Alder Spring is a beautiful site to have a look at while you're at Mill Creek Trail. Some close by water includes Dead Soldier Creek, and the vistas at Crater Lake National Park will blow your mind. All year is a wonderful time in the Southern Cascade Range if you like the outdoors. Take a little trip to Grouse Creek since you're here at Mill Creek Trail; if you came for an overnight stay Haymaker Campground is a splendid site to camp.
