There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end, so backcountry backpacking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. Lucky Lake Trail is not that long but it's always tremendous to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. With its 2.6 miles of walking distance it's a short backpacking trail. There's not much difference in elevation along Lucky Lake Trail which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. Lucky Lake Trail has a total elevation difference of 254 feet, and that is lower than average. This wilderness trail sometimes gets very dry, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. This backcountry hike shouldn't take more than 2 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that.
