You should count on this backcountry trek taking about 8.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Being 9.4 miles long; it's considered a longer backcountry walk. Lost Lake Trail has a total elevation difference of 1,523 feet which is about average. Keep in mind that this is a long backcountry hiking trail, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. Different parts of Lost Lake Trail are at very different elevations which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the hiking and backpacking trail. This is a two-ended trail with two trailheads, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can backcountry hike it just one way. At parts of the year this neighborhood sees very little rain, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire.
