This is a long backpacking trail, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. Some parts of this backcountry trail are much higher up than other parts of the backcountry trail, and that means that some parts of the backcountry trail could be very different from other parts of it. Of course, this is an overnight backcountry trek, 2.5 days normally, so it's a good thing if your backpack is big enough to do the job. The total elevation difference for Lost Camp Trail is 3,991 feet, and that is higher than average. Being 15.8 miles long; it's longer than many backcountry trails. This wilderness hiking trail has two trailheads, so backcountry backpacking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. At parts of the year this area sees very little rain, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire.
