  Hey, time for a backcountry walk don’t you think? Lookout Mountain Trail in Lane County, Oregon is just the place. Lookout Mountain Trail is relatively secluded from the nearest settlement, and it is a really pleasant wilderness hiking trail. There are wilderness trails all over Oregon; Lookout Mountain Trail in Lane County is one of them. This is not a very long backcountry trail but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. The total elevation difference for Lookout Mountain Trail is 527 feet which is a lower than
    average number. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. The lovely backpacking trails of the Central Cascade Range are a really magnificent way to spend quality time in the fresh air. This is a two-ended great outdoors trail with two trailheads,
so if you can get a ride from someone, you can walk it just one way. Oregon has lots of outdoors pastimes. Each one of the many wilderness trails of Oregon has something unique to offer. At Lookout Mountain Trail through the days of summer highs are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Lookout Mountain Trail. This backpacking trail is on the short side having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a nice hiking and backpacking  
trail for the average person looking for a nice adventure. The time needed for this backcountry trek is roughly 3 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. This is one of a very small number of hiking and backpacking trails in this area. The backcountry hiking trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. Here in Oregon trekking is always an enjoyable thing to do. With its 3.2 miles of walking distance it's a shorter type walk. This backcountry trail sometimes gets very dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. All the water falling down from the sky makes Lookout Mountain Trail a wet place; December is the month that gets the most rain; the driest of the months is July.

Briefly about the general area:
There's no way someone can get bored here in the Central Cascade Range. There are some glorious whitewater spots on Blue River, and camping is available at Tombstone Prairie Campground.
If you come at the right time of year, Horse Creek offers some nice whitewater, and a delightful location to camp here at Lookout Mountain Trail is Patio RV Park.
