You'll have got to go far from Klamath Falls to get to Lightening Spring Trail, but it sure is a a perfect backcountry hiking trail. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. This backpacking and hiking trail is a mid length backpacking and hiking trail with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this wilderness hiking trail pleasant for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. Some parts of this wilderness trail are much higher up than other parts of the wilderness trail, and that means that some parts of the wilderness trail could be very different from other parts of it.

Man, is there a load of fun stuff to do in the Southern Cascade Range. You'll meet a lot of people from Klamath Falls here; a tour to Crater Lake National Park is recommended. So much exciting stuff to do here in the Southern Cascade Range, too good to be true.
You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing stuff at Lightening Spring Trail. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Red Cone Spring; a good place to camp here at Lightening Spring Trail is Mazama Campground. Why not camp at Diamond Lake RV Park while you're here at Lightening Spring Trail, and Discovery Point is not far at all. A journey to Lightening Spring Trail wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Lightning Spring; there's some flowing water close by, Trapper Creek is a stream you can have a look at while you're here.
