Lick Creek Trail, Oregon

This great outdoors trail has a total elevation difference of 2,202 feet which is about average. There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can backcountry trek it just one way. The time needed for this backcountry walk is roughly 5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. This hiking trail goes through some very different elevations which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the hiking trail. This backcountry trail is not that long but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. Lick Creek Trail is 5.8 miles long it's an average length hiking trail. This vicinity does get very dry sometimes, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go.

7/20/2010- We hiked this last weekend.  I am not an experienced hiker, I usually walk/jog city roads with my dog so this hike was a challenge for me.  It took us exactly 2 hours to get from the top to the bottom (the river)then just over 2 hours to get back to the top, mostly because of my huffing and puffing.  2,200 feet elevation difference meant it was mostly uphill/downhill depending on which leg.  Great hike though.  Really pretty with lots of snow berries, ferns, mock orange, and of course woods. Only saw one huckleberry bush. Surprisingly most of the trip was in the woods. I would do it again. - Adkins
