Oregon hiking trails - Lava Trail, Central Cascade Range, Linn County

   
  Here in Oregon backcountry hiking is something that is always fun to do. There are backpacking trails all over Oregon; one of them being Lava Trail in Linn County. Each one of the many backpacking trails of Oregon is stunning in its own way. Now this backcountry trail is pretty long, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. This region does get very dry sometimes, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. You should count on this backcountry walk taking about 9 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could
    get stuck so be prepared for that. Some parts of Lava Trail are much higher up than other parts of the trail which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the trail. High temperatures at Lava Trail through the summer months are in
the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's, and nighttime lows during the winter for Lava Trail tend to be in the 30's. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. This is just one of a large number of backcountry trails in this vicinity. This hiking trail has a total elevation difference of 1,651 feet which is an average number. You can't spend all your time indoors you need to get out once in a while, and Lava Trail in Linn County, Oregon is  
just what you need. Lava Trail sees pretty high levels of rain; December is when you get the most rain here; July is when it's the driest. Lava Trail is 9.8 miles long; it's longer than many trails. The picturesque hiking and backpacking trails of the Central Cascade Range are the best way to enjoy these mountains. This hiking trail has only one trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out backcountry trek. Lava Trail is a great outdoors hiking trail pretty far from Bend, but trekking it is always cool. This hiking and backpacking trail is a hiking and backpacking trail of glorious length having an average number of uphill miles which makes this a very tough backcountry trail for advanced backcountry walkers looking for a nice challenge. Oregon has lots of outdoors pursuits.

Briefly about the general area:
Big Spring is a good local attraction, and there's whitewater on Santiam River - North for all you adrenaline people. If you want a wonderful time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Central Cascade Range. Lava Trail is a perfect place to visit for more than one day, Country Star Recreational Vehicle Park is a perfect place to camp nearby, and a pleasant spree to Marion Flats is a fine way to spend an afternoon.
If you want a perfect time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Lava Trail. Visit Swede Creek since you're here at Lava Trail. Tombstone Prairie Campground is a great campground nearby; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Marion Creek. Do set aside some time for Duffy Prairie if you're here at Lava Trail, and of course Green Creek is a stunning stream that is worth visiting.
