Oregon hiking trails - Lake Creek Trail, Blue Mountains, Grant County

   
  Going for a backcountry hike here in Oregon never gets boring. Gotta get out of the settlement man, and Lake Creek Trail in Grant County, Oregon is a really glorious place to spend some time. Tremendous wilderness trails in Oregon are in abundance; one of them being Lake Creek Trail in Grant County. Of course, this is an overnight hike, 2.5 days normally, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear packed. Sometimes this wilderness trail gets really dry, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. Quite far from La Grande
    you bump into Lake Creek Trail, but you always have a glorious time when you're hiking along it. This is a wilderness trail that is quite long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. This great outdoors hiking trail has a total elevation difference of 2,647 feet, and that is
higher than average. Every Oregon wilderness trail is charming in its own way. Lake Creek Trail is pretty dried up regularly; the month with most of the rain is November, and the driest of the months is July. There are so many hiking trails in this region. Backcountry trekking here in Oregon is a must. Some parts of Lake Creek Trail are much higher up than other parts of the hiking and backpacking trail, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. Lake Creek Trail is a trail of good length with an average amount of  
climbing distance which makes this hiking trail magnificent for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end which means you have the option of hiking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. With its 17.4 miles of walking distance; it's a long hiking and backpacking trail. Through the days of summer here at Lake Creek Trail, high temperatures generally reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 30's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's; after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Lake Creek Trail plunge into the 10's. Wilderness hiking trails like this one here in the Blue Mountains are the best way to enjoy these mountaintops.

Briefly about the general area:
Camping at Corrigal Spring Campground is always a brilliant experience; Desolation Meadows is a beautiful place any time of year. But wait, there's more entertaining things to do in the Blue Mountains. There's some flowing water nearby, Silver Creek is a stream you can have a look at while you're here, and a short tour to Chrome Spring is always worthwhile.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Blue Mountains. Backout Creek flows through this vicinity. Snowshoe Spring is a delightful place to have a look at while you're at Lake Creek Trail, and there are some glorious whitewater spots on Grande Ronde River. Lake Creek Trail is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Deerhorn Campground is a brilliant local campground, and Lost Meadow is a great site to stretch your legs a bit.
So much amusing stuff to do at Lake Creek Trail, so little time. Anderson Gulch is a good site to stop by nearby, and get yourself into a kayak and hit John Day River - North Fork.
